On September 15th, the Phyta team had the opportunity to present at the United Nations as Global Finalists for the 2018 Hult Prize. HULT PRIZE REGIONAL FINALISTS

Our team won the Regional Final for the Hult Prize – an international competition that offers $1 million in seed funding to an alternative and progressive start up organization. Having outcompeted 24 teams of undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D students, our will participate in a six-week accelerator program in London during which we will be given the opportunity to engage market research professionals, legal strategists, and financial advisors in order to further improve our business plan.

PHYTA PRESENTS AT 2018 SNF CONFERENCE

In July 2018, Phyta co-founders Lucy Best and Emily Kian were invited for a panel discussion at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Conference.

2ND PLACE - HEEL TANK

Phyta won 2nd place at the First Annual Heel Tank Competition, which was intended to help support innovative and entrepreneurial start-up ventures.

CUBE 4.0

In mid-November, Phyta was invited to join the CUBE 4.0 cohort, which is a UNC-based incubator for social ventures.

2017 CHASING GENIUS - NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

In mid-September, our team was honored as finalists in the National Geographic Chasing Genius Challenge – a national competition for innovative solutions to global health, sustainability, and food security challenges. Over the course of the 15-day voting period, our initiative ranked third among 3,000 submissions, which indicated strong support for the project from the national community.
